"Love Me" - song by Jeremy Hansard

After being encouraged by a friend, I decided to include this entry on this blog...

This is a song I wrote last week for a service on September 22, 2013, that was centered around the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).  The recording is from the service (so it's not perfect, by any means!).

"Love Me" by Jeremy Hansard

Lyrics:

Looking in, she sees the happy smiles
With hope alive, she says, "Hello," one time
But no one seems to notice, No one seems to care
She slips back out with everyone unaware
Her heart cries out,

Love me, the way you say God loves me
I know all the things you do, but still it's hard to see
How you love me, the way you say God loves me
Come on and show the proof, I need you to love me

Walking in, he fakes his confidence
Mask in place, his only words, "I'm fine"
But inside there's a hunger, he only wants a friend
Walking out, he wants it all to end.
His soul cries out

Love me, the way you say God loves me
I know all the things you do, but still it's hard to see
How you love me, the way you say God loves me
Come on and show the proof, I need you to love me

How can we portray the love of Christ?
With more than words, we must be His light
So with the grace He's given, with an open hand
Jesus loved, so we must love again
and say how

I love you,  the way that God loves you
I know all the things you do, and still you need to see
That I love you, the way that God loves you
Come on let me give you proof, and show how I love you
