Yep, I'm talking about my Queen (wife, Cindy, of nearly 20 years!), and my three princesses (age 15, 9, and 6).
These four women are the joys of my life. My home is definitely my castle (some have said "estrogen palace") and I am the King! These girls make me the happiest man alive!
I've been surrounded by Barbies for most of my adult life, most of the TV shows and movies I've seen involve princesses, and pink is the color that prevails. But I wouldn't change a thing!
Every time I see one of my daughters dance, it is a delight to my eyes. Every time I walk in the door greeted by a flurry of brunettes running toward me, it makes my heart swell. And every time I let my 15 year old get behind the wheel... well, I don't think I'll say that out loud just yet... And I must admit, when "Butterfly Kisses" or "Cinderella" comes on the radio, I get a little bleary eyed.
My wife is my greatest treasure. She's God's best gift to me. Ever. And forever. Her beauty, her eyes, her soul, her voice, her body (whoa, Baby, I am SO glad we're married!) - they all come together, for me! Yes, she is mine and I am hers! That's the way God set it up, and it's perfect! (we're not perfect, of course, but the set up is perfect!) She makes me want to be the man I'm supposed to be for her. Her companion, helpmate, friend, lover, and partner. We are husband and wife, the perfect fit.
Yah, we annoy each other every now and again, and the children know all the right buttons to push when they want to aggravate each other. And whew! the drama that can unfold is astounding. But, we know we're all in it for the long haul (forever...) so we know that the hugs and kisses will always return.
Thank God for my girls!
